flifferschmeep is a satirical contemporary fantasy, in the subcategory of magical realism.

The story combines fantasy with legal, political, media, and bureaucratic satire. Its central character Maurice Rizzo is not a conventional fantasy hero. He’s an ordinary, flawed man who suddenly becomes important for a reason entirely beyond his control, and much of the comedy comes from watching institutions built to handle ordinary problems attempt to cope with something that should not exist. He starts as a leaf floating in a rapid river but eventually gains control over what he wants and knows. 

The novel has a little bit of everything else for everyone: action, drama, humor, and self-growth. Readers who enjoy speculative premises, absurd situations, institutional satire, and stories that ask serious questions without insisting on serious faces should feel at home with flifferschmeep. Everyone else should buy a copy so I can retire from the practice of law and spend the rest of my years writing.
